Accessibility Statement
Zero Proof, For You.
A Program of The Speedy Foundation
At Zero Proof, For You., we are committed to creating an online experience that is welcoming, accessible, and usable for everyone. Whether you are visiting our site using assistive technology, browsing on a mobile device, or viewing on a desktop, our goal is for every visitor to have a smooth, inclusive experience.
We actively work to meet accessibility best practices and follow WCAG 2.0 guidelines wherever possible. Below is an overview of the steps we take to support accessibility on our website.
Website Navigation
Our entire site is built to be fully navigable by keyboard. Visitors can move through content, menus, and links using standard keyboard commands. A site-wide sitemap ensures every published page can be accessed without a mouse.
Page Titles & Descriptions
Clear, descriptive page titles help visitors understand where they are and what each page covers.
We also include page descriptions to support orientation in search results and assistive tools.
Headings & Structure
To help screen readers scan and interpret the structure of each page, our content uses proper heading hierarchy.
This ensures visitors can quickly move between sections and understand how information is organized.
Readable Spacing
We prioritize readability and follow spacing guidelines such as:
Line spacing at least 1.5 times the font size
Paragraph spacing at least 2 times the font size
This helps improve clarity for readers with visual or cognitive accessibility needs.
Accessible Links
We avoid vague link text like “click here.”
Instead, our links describe their purpose (e.g., “Learn more about our programs”), helping all users—including screen reader users—immediately understand where a link goes.
Social Media Accessibility
In addition to visual social icons, we include text-based links labeled with the full name of each platform. This ensures clarity for screen readers and anyone who relies on descriptive link text.
Image Descriptions (Alt Text)
Images include meaningful alternative text that conveys the purpose of the image in fewer than 125 characters.
For visuals that require more detail—such as graphs or charts—additional descriptive text is provided nearby on the page.
We also label click-through images by clarifying where they lead (e.g., “Donate today — links to Donation page”).
Audio Accessibility
Audio content is accompanied by written transcripts to support visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Video Accessibility
Videos include closed captions via built-in YouTube and Vimeo captioning features. Viewers can enable or disable captions based on their needs.
Color Choices & Contrast
We use color combinations that support high contrast and avoid pairings that are challenging for color-blind users (such as blue vs. purple).
When color alone is used to convey meaning, we support it with labels, alt text, or other context.
Focus Outline
Because Zero Proof, For You. is built within The Speedy Foundation’s Squarespace CMS, our site includes a built-in focus outline feature.
When using keyboard navigation, links and form fields are visually highlighted when selected using the Tab key.
Ongoing Commitment & Feedback
Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we continue to learn and improve. Our goal is to ensure our website remains usable and inclusive for all visitors.
